SOCIAL MEDIA / MARKETING INTERN

WHAT YOU SHOULD BRING + WHAT YOU WILL LEARN

Above all, we are looking for curiosity, energy, attention to the finest of details, a strong work ethic, and a thirst to learn & expand. Be ready to brainstorm, toss around crazy ideas, and to ask questions. What we do is all about creativity, thinking outside the box, and figuring out how to make the seemingly impossible fit & work. We want more of that vibrancy on our team. ⚡️

We are looking for someone who is already using social media in their own life, who has a love & savviness for it, and who knows a few more fun tips & tricks than maybe we do. Familiarity across our major 3 (Instagram, Facebook & Twitter) is a plus. What we will teach you is how to use those skills & energy & strategically & creatively apply it to a business, to reach followers with an end goal in mind. We will make your brain stretch in those ways.

TASKS

  • content creation: (A) find relevant content from around web & social networks to share & (B) create original content utilizing EDIA’s photo library
  • co-creation of videos, Boomerangs, stop-motion, etc.
  • hashtag research
  • promotion of EDIA’s own hashtags
  • research & co-manage social media takeovers
  • co-analyze post/engagement results

PROJECT: ENGAGEMENT

Aside from your day-to-day social media tasks, your internship will have one over-arching theme: engagement. With our goals in mind, you will be the creator of your project, and we will work with you to fine-tune your ideas & approach. A focus on engagement brings business to the forefront of your social media tasks, dialing you in to the importance and intricacies of keeping who is on the other side of the pic & hashtag in mind.

TO APPLY: post to your social accounts, tagging & telling us why you want this internship! Show off your social skills: your photography, caption-writing, hashtagging, emoji use, understanding of our brand/look, etc. & your overall proficiency with a range of social networks (hint: we use Instagram, Twitter & Facebook). If you impress us, we’ll contact you and go from there! Is this a test? You bet it is!

JOURNALISM / MARKETING INTERN

WHAT YOU SHOULD BRING + WHAT YOU WILL LEARN

Above all, we are looking for curiosity, energy, attention to the finest of details, a strong work ethic, and a thirst to learn & expand. We are looking for someone with a love for the written word & story-telling. We want you to dig deep into the content of our maps and use them to tell stories of the culture, history & food you’ll find there, as well as the people who are keeping those traditions alive. Be curious, as all great story-tellers are. Ask questions, reach out & talk to people to make connections. Look for the angle. All of them. And then pick the one that grabs. We will help you deepen your writing skills, to drive home the point, and to really engage with the reader (our customers) in a way that ultimately helps sell our products without being salesy.

TASKS

  • create content for our online travel journal & newsletter
  • author articles, itineraries, & top 5 lists based on a deep understanding of content of maps
  • find community collaborators to create guest articles, itineraries, & top 5 lists: research, make contact, co-manage, & co-edit
  • potentially create press pitches from your writing, for which you will serve as the point of contact
  • communicate with social media intern to promote your content

MAIN PROJECT >>> COLLABORATION

Aside from your day-to-day journalistic tasks, your internship will have one over-arching theme: collaboration. With our goals in mind, you will be the creator of your project, and we will work with you to fine-tune your ideas & approach. Collaborations can include interviews, guest posts, etc. and should really help you stretch your journalistic legs beyond editorial independent writing.

TO APPLY: Email us a top 5 list of why you want this internship! Your submission should demonstrate a proficient & creative use of the written word and your understanding of our brand/products. If we like what you write, we may use it in our newsletter &/or online travel journal, so make it shine! Is this a test? Absolutely!
